Re: How long to get definite diagnosis
Sorry I haven't posted for ages, it's been really up and down. I did keep peeking in and as more loved ones were lost I didn't have the will to keep reading. Well James is still here, it was 3 years on 24 March, since he was diagnosed with stage 4 PC with mets to lungs and adrenal glands. Then the d...

Re: stage 4 long time survival without operation
Hello, I haven't posted for ages, various reasons including forgetting password and then my requests unfortunately went into PCUKs trash. Anyway I'm back and although I was too sad to post for a bit, hearing about Steve and Mark really affected us badly as both had given excellent advice; along with...

Re: ITS BEEN A WHILE--THE LOVE OF MY LIFE HAS CANCER
Dear Martine, I am so sorry to hear your news, this cruel, evil disease is so hard to cope with and it changes people, not just physically. I hope things are as good as they can be and sometimes things do work out better than you expect. Sending you both all my best wishes. Fiona X

Re: Hair Loss on Gemcetabine
CheshireBee, hello my husband has now had 13 cycles of ambraxane and Gemcitabine and lost all his hair after the first 4 cycles, including body hair and eye lashes. The good news is that after cycle 6 it started to grow back. His beard was grey, it was originally, but his hair is now really dark, mo...

Re: How do I know if creons are doing any good?
Dear Sue, yes James experienced weight loss in the beginning, it was his only really symptom, that and diarrhoea. Anyway despite the croons his diarrhoea continued and the 'experts' kept telling him to take more, but with little affect, It was Leila on this site that researched and found out about S...

Dear Marie, my husband James was given 12-26 weeks, with terminal PC spread to his lungs and adrenal gland 67 weeks and 2 days ago, he is still here. Much older than you, 71 now, but OK. As you say they only ever give averages based on empirical evidence and so can't be right for everyone. James is ...

Re: Creon 40000
Jonathan, I agree. We were only told quite recently and were told it was because of a difficulty of ensuring consistency within the higher 40,000 capsules. This might only be a little thing, but to those already suffering it is important. I'm not sure I understand Jeni's answer, how many pancreas do...
