Re: constipation and pain.

Thanks for posting the link. Cathy - you're message did make me smile 'Just chemo!'. It shows how 'everyday' this craziness has become. We actually had the doctor out to her on Sunday as Saturday night was just horrific. The doctor agreed that she thought it was a bug and not the cancer or chemo cau...

Re: constipation and pain.

Thank you for replying. My mum doesn't have a dietician and no-one has mentioned Creons. I've seen it mentioned on here but didnt know what they were. She spoke to the Macmillan nurse who said the dysentery may be caused by her acid tablets or she may have picked up a 'bug'!! She seems to have event...

Re: constipation and pain.

Thanks both. Nikki-you are so right. We were starting to feel more positive. She isn't taking Creons - I haven't heard of that. Oh dear-is this something else that she should be taking? I was wondering if it could be from the constipation as she has taken so many things to try and make her go. Hopef...

Re: constipation and pain.

Oh my goodness. I was going to post earlier this week that my mum seems to be much improved. We'd eventually got her pain under some control, she had been put on steroids so her appetite was back, she was back sleeping in her bed (after sleeping on the settee since being diagnosed) and she had been ...

Re: constipation and pain.

Hi Cathy, I'm going to ring the Macmillan nurse tomorrow to to see if she can see mum earlier.I cannot believe that she hasn't had any emotional support. No-one has sat with her and asked her how she's feeling or coping and to me her mental state and keeping her positive is just as important. I was ...

constipation and pain.

Hi. My mum had her first chemo session on Wednesday. They almost cancelled it as she passed some blood when going to the loo as she is so constipated (She had not gone to the toilet for 10 days). Thankfully, they went ahead and she has coped really well. She has been a little sleepy but nothing like...

Re: Feeling Alone

Dear Nia, Your message has touched me so much. I cannot believe that you have taken so much time to respond. Thank you. She starts her chemo on Wednesday so we're taking it from there really. See how she responds to it and how much she is able to do. We're a very small, close family and my 2 sons ad...

Re: Feeling Alone

Oh NIa thank you for posting that- especially after losing your mum in a similar way. You are so right. We are very alike and she too is my best friend. We do everything together which is why this is going to be so hard. Goodness knows how often we text each other in a day! I'm trying to stay strong...

Thank you Cathy. That's so kind. I love that phrase and will keep on keeping on. Jeni- thank you so much for taking the time to reply an explain all that to me. It really is appreciated. I spoke to mums oncologist today who answered some questions that I couldn't ask in front of her. It's so hard ac...

Re: Feeling Alone

Thank you Rob. That's so kind and helpful. I wanted to change the title of my post to 'feeling calmer' but don't know how to!! I honestly think she doesn't want to know and I have to respect that. It's so hard accepting that there's nothing we can do. I thought I was coping well until I had to retur...

Re: Feeling Alone

She also saw a pain relief doctor today. They've now increased her MST and changed her sickness tablets which is great x
