Re: A year dedicated to PCUK & destroying my body

Hi Sandra and Didge, Sorry it took me so long to reply. Im sorry to hear of your loses. Really truly sorry. Ive been through many phases over the past 10months and hate the idea of other people going through the same. Ultimately though, both Caitlin and I are doing okay. We keep busy (probably too b...

A year dedicated to PCUK & destroying my body

Its been a long time since I posted but its now been 10months since my husband Jim (aged 37) passed away. He battled PC for 14months and had a fairly typical journey. He was incredible throughout and I'm so very proud of how he handled the rubbish that was thrown his way. 10months on and life is oka...

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Aw I'm sure they are. Jim is actually a Man United fan too. Ivan Gazidas (Arsenal CEO) even made a joke about it in his eulogy at the funeral. He loved Arsenal and his job but Man United always came first. I'm sure he and Carl will be cheering them on. Xxx

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Hello, Thank you all for messages, they are lovely to read so thank you!!! Jim's funeral was on Tuesday and it was emotional but lovely. I think we gave him a great send off. Caitlin did fantastic and was so brave. People kept telling me how strong I was, I didn't really cry, I think I'm still in th...

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Thank you all for such kind words. Your comments about how handsome he was have made me chuckle and brought back memories of his nurses at the chemo centre who would all fight over him. They used to get grumpy when he didn't turn up in his Arsenal suit as they all liked him in that but they particul...

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Thank you all for your kind wonderful words. As I read them, it struck me that you guys are the only people who truly understand what we have been through and what we will go through. My friends and family can say all the usually pleasantries but they are just that. They can't really "get it" but yo...

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

My very handsome and brave husband passed away yesterday. He had been kicking the ass of Pancreatic cancer since November 2013 although had been dealing with its effects since spring 2013. His decline was rapid in the past fortnight and Infact the last hours. (Although we knew it was nearing, I thou...

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Hello, Tracy has done incredible to reach 22 sessions. Its a tough regime. Jim was tolerating it well so we were surprised it stopped working seemingly so quickly. A couple of weeks ago his weight started to drop off by a few pounds and he started to experience a bit more pain in his back. He was du...

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Thank you both! We went for a lovely posh lunch today as a treat after the rubbish scan results. I forced Jim to have a starter and a main course pretending it was purely because he needs to put weight on when in reality I was just been greedy and wanting it myself :-)

Have a nice weekend x

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Aw brilliant thanks Nikki. I'm pleased it's been doing doing the job for your husband. Jim has literally just got home and said he was going to read your thread as he had seen it on here previously. It's funny that we were so fixated on Folfirinox that we hadn't spent much time reading up about Abra...

Re: Husband just diagnosed at 36

Hello, It's been awhile since I updated but mostly because nothing has changed. Jim is still working and playing a lot of golf. We are also just back from a great holiday in Lanzarote. It's now been almost exactly a year since diagnosis and Jim has had 19 Folfirinox treatments. Today he received his...
