Re: Carls story
Hi Rob, sorry I'm late to offer condolences. I had heard through one of the cancer charities that Carl had died and was so sad to hear it. Hope you are continuing to do well. You and Carl made a magnificent team and explored all available avenues to give Carl the best chance and you succeeded in ext...

Hi Rob, so saddened to hear Carl is coming to the end of his journey. His blogs and your posts were always positive and uplifting. I hope you both can find your peace.

Re: Carls story
Good heavens Rob (and Carl) what a lot you're having to deal with. Lesser mortals would crumble under the weight of it all but still in the end you remain upbeat and positive and thank goodness for your 'breath of fresh air' consultant. It really does make all the difference. Hoping his plans come t...

Re: Hospital Diagnostics Review
Marmalade, what a fantastic job you have done. My husband, an ex police officer, was a stickler for diarying everything. I did have a diary whilst he was ill but was more about his day, drugs etc. I'm glad we have people like you with the energy and drive to pursue matters when inadequacies are appa...

Sorry to hear about your mum.
Ask about a syringe driver. This worked best for my husband.

Re: Carls story
Hi Rob, things seem to be on the up again apart from chemo side effects which is to be expected. Poor Carl's body has been through such a lot, you must both be exhausted.
He looks flippin' fantastic in the picture, all power to him - and you, you make a great team.

Be aware that if you go down the private funding route you will also have to pay for the nursing care etc. That's what we were told anyway.
Good luck.

Re: Forum Threads II
Hi all I am a user of old. I think this forum is primarily for support and information during very difficult times. It was certainly a life line for me and my family. Of course, during the time I used the forum I made some very good friends and we, seven of us, are all still in regular contact and m...

Re: Carls story
Hi Rob I don't post here often now but look in now and again. Sorry to hear Carl is having a tough time of it at the moment. Sending good vibes that Carl picks up a bit and that the chemo doesn't affect him too much, also that further ablation proceeds with no hiccups. I get that it must get more di...

Hi Didge, sorry you have decided to leave for good. Ray has been gone now since October 2013 and I still come back here, though it's becoming less and less especially now that Mark has left us. He was the last of the posters that were around when Ray was diagnosed. We became a group of people with a...

Re: My Journey So Far
This is just the saddest news and I am so, so sorry to hear it. My husband was diagnosed around the same time but sadly succumbed after only 7 months so I was always interested in Mark's progress which gave hope to other users of the forum and he will be sorely missed. I am glad you have had three q...
