Re: Folfrinox and type 1 diabetes

Hello Sue, My mum is a type 1 diabetic and has just completed chemo albeit a different regime. That and the steroids played havoc with her sugar. As Dianne says make sure sugar levels are accurately recorded and seek help as soon as possible if they are not controlled. My mums was far better control...

Hello there, just a thought have you been tested for celiac / gluten intolerance? That can cause all the symptoms you describe. Really good news that nothing sinister is showing on your MRI. Take care, Catherine x

Re: felt sick before I even started...

Hello Linda, Sorry you're having a tough time. But hang on in there. My mums just finished on that treatment regieme and it's more than done the trick. She's moving on to chemo and radio together in 3 weeks and the oncologist is talking 'long term control'. Keep strong. Also she's had 2 weeks off no...

Re: Hello from KATB

Hello Kat, I am not sure how you go about getting to a specialist centre - I am sure the support team will be able to help you with that though. Your dad has a right to a second opinion and a right to being treated at a centre that specialises in his disease. At our local hospital we were being offe...

Re: Hello from KATB

Hello Kat, I'm so sorry to hear of your dads diagnosis. It is so scary and overwhelming. My best possible advice to you would be to get to your local specialist centre as soon as possible. I'll tell you my mums story to try and give you some hope. We went from no hope to hope within 24 hours of my m...

Hello Ellie I saw your post a couple of days ago and was so delighted for you. I didn't post back as we were waiting for my mums CT results and I didn't want to jinx them. It's amazing what superstitions you get! Have a lovely Easter, good luck with your dissertation and look forward to your graduat...

Re: Some very good news

Thank you everyone. I have been imagining being able to post some good news, and am so happy I was able to do so. Now we're crossing everything that the radio chemo does what the oncologist thinks it will. Though to be honest I feel more positive about this treatment regime than I ever did about whi...
