Re: Advice for Creon
Hi Pete, I too had surgery, but mine was the other end - the body and tail of my pancreas -' a distal pancreatectomy,' also lost my spleen and part of my tummy. I struggled with creons, being very bloated amongst other things. I was changed to Nutryzym 22, and have never looked back, but I do not ta...

Distal pancreatectomy, two years on - can I prevent diabetes
Hi, I wondered if there is any advice anyone could give me, from their experiences, I have a PNET which was debulked in October, 2012, and at the moment I am on 28 injections, to control this. I was told at the time of surgery, I may become diabetic. [I lost the body and tail of my pancreas] My last...

Re: Wilko Johnson gets op!
Have read the posts, regarding Wilko Johnson with interest, although, not a lot of information really, could have done with more emphasis on his cancer, and as you say, no mention that it is an endocrine tumour. A little self interest here I'm afraid, because I too have a pancreatic endocrine tumour...

Hi Rachel, definately early days, twelve days gosh - I was in hospital for fifteen days, it wasn't a whipples op. I had, it was the other end - the body and tail of my pancreas etc. so, take it steady, and yes, would think that you need creon (I personally couldn't get on with Creon,) I was very blo...

Re: My Journey So Far
Sorry Linda, only just seen your posting regarding Nutrizym 22. Your doctor is just about right. It will be trial and error for a while, I take one with breakfast/sometimes two( eggs, or small amount bacon, or beans on toast, that sort of thing / two with lunch - that is our main meal, I always take...

Re: newbie need help plz
Hi Adrian, always difficult to know what to say, but I feel sure that if you have been offered surgery, and you think you are in the right place for this, then go for it. I had surgery, not a whipples, but the other end of the pancreas, body and tail, and spleen, and a bit of my tummy. Don't worry a...

Re: My Husband
Could I add, I too had problems with creons, persevered for months, even taking the contents out of the capsule - not recommended, - this may or may not help, but my GP tried me on a different brand, Nutrizym 22, and I have been so much better. Carole

Re: My Journey So Far
Hi Linda, just thought I would add to your post, regarding Creons. Could be totally unrelated, but I was struggling with Creons, the biggest problem was severe bloating - I have a brilliant GP and Dietician at the hospital, tried Creons out of the capsule, but not really recommended, however, my GP ...
