Re: No bed available at hospital for gastric bypass!!!

Paul, there is nothing I can say or do to take the suffering away, I just wish I could - and I do know how helpless and how lost you will be feeling right now. Please know I am thinking of you all, Hugs, Lulu x

Re: Laura and Bri

Laura, you are truly inspiring and Bri's story gave my Dad lots of hope which I will always be grateful for. I wish you both a lovely Christmas and happy new year when it comes. Laura please keep on posting your story - yours was always the post I looked out for as that one 'success' story and it ho...

Re: this time of year...

It is only five days since we buried Dad. I miss him so much it hurts, I miss talking to him, hearing his voice, worry that wherever he is now is he well again, feel unable to go through Christmas Day without him but know I must. Every twinkling Christmas light I see reminds me of the time of year b...

My amazing Dad lost his fight

After fighting a hard battle since diagnosis in August my darling Dad lost his fight with pancreatic cancer this week and he died in the early hours of Wednesday morning. We are all completely devastated. It had been a rocky couple of weeks as I have posted on my other threads here but in his last t...

Re: creon / 2nd attempt chemo?

Hello Hope, I know what you are going through, my dad was diagnosed in August also with inoperable PC. We eventually got the creons after a fight and Dad has managed to put on 5k in weight, plus not being able to flush everything away at the toilet was a problem but the creons have solved that probl...

Re: No bed available at hospital for gastric bypass!!!

Hi Paul, know exactly what you mean, we too had to fight for creons etc. In fact our GP point blanked refused - we eventually got them when we got to the the oncologist at the top of the tree at the hospital. It's shocking how little knowledge there seems to be with primary care givers when it comes...

Re: bri's progress

Laura, you and Bri are an inspiration to all of us here and I totally understand how you must have felt when you got this recent news. But I am so glad you are feeling a bit better since you spoke to your doctor. It probably is minimal but I suspect you are on the 'alert' for any sign or symptom and...

Re: Dad still holding on.

Hi everyone, just thought I'd try to update and catch up with everyone. We've had a rocky 9 days with Dad unfortunately. Last chemo they told us his blood count was down to '1' - but if he felt well enough they would continue with the planned chemo session at a reduced 75%. So Dad and I were left to...

Dad still holding on.

Decided to start another thread - Dad seemed to 'come back' after the worst few days ever last week - we even had a 'blessing' for him at home as my sister and I were so sure the end was near. We're not particularly religious but we both 'needed' something like that and Dad was amenble - and it actu...

Jools, I am so, so sorry to hear Bill passed away. I cannnot imagine how you must be feeling right now but please know you have been a tower of strength to me and others here. Re: No bed available at hospital for gastric bypass!!!

Paul, over the moon to hear your wife is able to come home and fantastic news that the sickness seems to be under control at last. Long may that continue. Remember how well you are doing holding it all together, a lot of men could not handle this the way you are doing, you are an inspiration. I'm ve...

Re: Another 'newbie'

Sue and Paul, thanks for being here for me. It really does feel like the only place I can actually say how I really feel. When I'm with Dad I'll say how much better he looks (even when he doesn't) - just to cheer him up and give him hope - but here I can say what is really on my mind and that is so ...

Re: Another 'newbie'

Thanks Deb, Dad seemed to rally again today. it's crazy. Yesterday we all more or less said our goodbyes not knowing if this was the final goodbye, then today he seems a lot more 'with it' again. 5 days past chemo so maybe that's it. Still very swollen feet, nausea and poor appetite. GP coming to se...

Jools, you must be so tired, hang on in there. You will be such a comfort to Bill to know you are with him. Hugs from a fellow traveller on this dreadful journey. We are all thinking of you xx
