Amazing. Stay positive everyone,
Hope you're doing ok Paul? I followed yours and your wife's story so closely when she was ill. My mum was sadly just behind her. It all still seems like yesterday.....
Best wishes

Re: Not long left I fear
Dear Karen, I'm so sorry you are on this terrible journey, one which I know only too well. My mum also suffered with ascites and had to keep going into hospital to have her tummy drained. That was until they fitted a Plurex drain - these are normal used for patients with lung cancer ( I think) but a...

Dear Ellie,
What fab news about your mum's amazing shrinkage! Tremendous! So pleased for you and your family. Your mum must be a tough cookie.
Hope Uni is going well, final year isn't it? Good luck with the final push!

Re: My darling mum
Hi everyone, It's been ages since I posted something about my mum on here although I log in most days to catch up with how everyone else is getting along. It's unbelievable how many have lost their fight in the short time that I have been a member on this site but I've found it so comforting reading...

Re: Lost my Father-in-law yesterday, 24th June 2012
Dear David, I was searching in the forums for some advice or experiences of people having low sodium and your post popped up. Thank you so much for writing it. I can only hope that when the time time comes, my mum's journey is as peaceful as your father in laws. I hope that 6 months on, your family ...

Re: No bed available at hospital for gastric bypass!!!
Hi Paul, Glad you and Andrea have managed to get your hands on creon capsules. Having had experience from mums creons, they come in different sizes related to the amount of enzymes in them. Mum started off with '10,000' x2 with every meal, now she's up to '40,00's x2 or 3 with each meal, depending o...

Re: No bed available at hospital for gastric bypass!!!
So sorry Paul for you and your fiance that the service is letting you down and you're having to do so much of the chasing and organising yourself, the last thing you need, how frustrating. It sounds like you are doing a fabulous job tho. You've inspired me to continue to chase, nag and chivvy up eve...

Re: My darling mum
Hi everyone, Thank you all for your kind words, such a comfort. Just a quick update..... So the docs don't think mums swelling is due to ascites, which is good. Unfortunately, they've found the cancer has spread to her peritonium (abdo lining) which is probably causing the pain, swelling and digesti...

Re: My darling mum
Dear Sue and Paul, Thank you so much for your prompt and kind replies. Yes, she is on creon, some pain meds (but this needs reviewing as what she's on at the mo isn't enough), anti diarrhoea meds and sleeping pills. Just waiting for a call from the ward about what time she's got to go in for the dra...

My darling mum
Hi all, I've been reading everyone's posts and although every one makes me sob, it's so comforting that others are going through similar experiences to our family. My wonderfully brave and beautiful mum was diagnosed with advanced PC on the 17th August. Since 'Black Friday', mum has stoically battle...
