Re: my husband of 2 weeks with weeks to live

So very sorry to hear your sad story, I have been in tears reading it. This disease is so cruel it seems to take some people so quickly, my mother lasted 7 weeks and I thought that was no time at all. Please try not to have any regrets about how things went with the hospital. I beat myself up everyd...

FIRST MILESTONE- MY PARENTS WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Its been 4 long weeks and I am only now beginning to realise she is gone. I still feel stunned at the swiftness and no opportunity to fight. On the 14th November it would have been my parents 43rd wedding anniversary which the hospice Dr said she would definitely make. This disease is so sneaky even...

Re: Come on Eileen (My Mam) Died 11.08.12

Hi nicola, Have just read through your story, so very sad. My mother passed away a week and a half ago in the same way as yours and I am torturing myself that they didn't get her pain relief right. They thought she had a few more weeks but she just suddenly went one minute she was playing with the c...

Re: Where now ?

God the way that our poor relatives are dealt with is unbelievable. People should be falling over themselves to help. They seem quite happy to just hand a death sentence and walk away it makes me so angry and so very sad. There are a few good people and I am glad you have found them. it will help yo...

Missing my mother so much

Its been a week only and I am still replaying her last few awful hours in my head.I just feel they never really did anything for her. From diagnosis it was just like off you go and come back to us when you are close to the end and then we will muck up your pain relief so you don't die peacefully :-(...

My Mother

Well my mother was diagnosed with advanced PC with liver mets on the 28th Aug (after 4 weeks of trying to get tests to see why she had lost so much weight so relatively quick I guess) and at that point the only real problems were weight loss and nausea. They then left it another week and a bit befor...

Help with my fatthers overwhelming grief

Hi there, this is my first post and may be a long one! My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about 6 weeks ago and has gone down hill very quickly. She is currently in a hospice having collapsed at home a week ago. All very sad and very hard for us all. However my sister and I are managing ...
