Hi Lucy. Yeah it does seem like only yesterday. I am ok, I guess, but miss Andrea more with every single day that passes. I'm sure you feel the same about your dear mum. Hope you are ok.
Hugs,
Paul

Re: Heartbroken
I am so sad to read of the loss of your dear husband. I was where you are now just 19 months ago. It has ben (and still is) a long hard path to tread. This weekend was particularly difficult as it would have been my lovely wife's birthday on Saturday. I chose to spend the evening quietly alone, lit ...

Re: How much longer will he suffer.
I lost my lovely wife to this vile thing just over a year ago. I was with her at the end. She began to breathe in a quite laboured way, ( I believe they refer to it as Cheyne-Stokes respiration) which lasted about 2 hours before she quietly slipped away. Fortunately, she was in no pain due to the me...

Re: Pancreatic Cancer Action Campaign
It certainly seems to be doing its bit to raise the profile of PC. I am aware that people with loved ones suffering from the other forms may well be hurt by this, especially if things are going badly for them in their own fight, regardless of the odds being "better" for them compared with PC. Howeve...

Sue, I am so very sad and sorry for your sudden and tragic loss. I suspect you will be in a detached, dream-like state for several weeks/months now as you function on automatic pilot (that's how it was for me, anyway). Your three lovely boys will give you strength and focus (as my children did, and ...

Karen, my thoughts and prayers are with you(and Bob) at this awful time. He was one lucky guy to have your amazing support during his brave fight against this terrible disease. Try to take comfort that he is no longer suffering, but do whatever you feel is right to keep going. It's a long, hard path...

Hi Sarah I am so pleased that you have done your research well and that you are so positive in your attitude to tackle this disease with knowledge and foresight! Your mum is lucky to have you on her side fighting this thing in such a measured way. I don't need to tell you to push, push, push to get ...

Re: No bed available at hospital for gastric bypass!!!
Hi Sam. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. I am going up to see the new baby boy next Sunday for the first time. I am sooo excited. I have been working six and a half days a week lately and, I have to say, I am getting very tired now. I intend to knock Sunday mornings on the head the week aft...

Sammy-Lou, I am so very sad for your loss. You will feel as if you want the world to stop turning to give you time to get to grips with this terrible loss. However, as I have found, this can not happen and, somehow, we find it within ourselves to keep going.I took each day an hour at a time. There i...

Hi Sam
Don't feel selfish. I have experienced those same feelings. The helplessness makes you feel alone and vulnerable. You are so right to use this place as a means to unload and vent. We have all done it. Stay strong. One day at a time. Sending you a big hug

Re: Poorly dad
Jacqui I am so sorry for the loss of your amazing Dad. I live in the rural community in East Yorkshire and, though not a farmer myself, have some farmer friends. I admire the work they do and their affinity with nature. The rest of us could learn a lot from them. Your Dad sounds as though he was at ...
