Adamjhill83, I'm finding harder now too. I am glued to corrie, the whole household has to be quiet, I want to hear every word, I want to make sure they get the storyline exactly right (although I am aware everyone's story differs slightly)
I'm a little obsessed with it.
Hope you are ok

Re: My dad and this horrible disease
I'm so sorry to hear your news, I lost my mum last year aged 65, 5 months after diagnosis. Our story is so very similar to yours...pain, sickness, pain, agitation, pain etc. They never managed to get on top of her symptoms. Looking back now I feel no one was in any rush to do anything for us. I dip ...

Re: Pancreatic cancer hereditary ?
Thanks Marie, My mum had pancreatic cancer and died 5 months after diagnosis. Really only know of one other person in my family who's had cancer and it wasn't a first relative nor was it pancreatic....now I'm feeling the doctor will just laugh me out of the room. If I had to pay for the gene testing...

Pancreatic cancer hereditary ?
Hi, well I've not logged on here since my mum sadly died March 2012 but have felt the need to come back tonight. Although I cannot bring myself to read my old posts I have read a few recent ones and it amazes me how very similar peoples stories are and my heart goes out to each and every one of you ...

My poor mum has gone
My mum just couldn't take any more and passed away 5 months from the day of her diagnosis. She was handed a death sentence, no treatment and no hope. We watched her suffer this dreadful disease but she never lost her humour and never failed to make us smile, even now. I know I didn't write our story...

Re: Hello
Hi Sam, My mum was diagnosed in October 2011. I don't post much but i'm often on here reading other peoples stories. It's nice to know there is somewhere to go where you can get support, rant & rave, ramble on in the early hours of the morning, whatever you like. It's nice sometimes to chat to peopl...

Re: mum's birthday in the hospice
Thanks everyone for your replies. We had decided just to go along with whatever mum says/wants as it's not hurting anyone, in fact she hasnt really spoken of her room in that way for a day or so. She wasn't so good today, very sleepy and in pain. The nurses do a brilliant job but they aren't mind re...

Re: mum's birthday in the hospice
Thank you. She's so confused most of the time now, sometimes in an agitated way and other times in a very sweet way. My mum has been moved from a 4 bed room to a single room, it's lovely, a real little home from home but she now believes she is in a new flat of her own and has asked for some persona...

mum's birthday in the hospice
So all hopes for getting mum home this afternoon for her birthday were dashed. This morning the nurses helped her have a bath, do her hair and get ready for a few hours at home to celebrate her 65th birthday. sadly she was quite confused and panicky about the whole thing so the nurses thought it wou...

Re: my wife
Hey Drew, It's just terrible isn't it? my mum, who is in the hospice now, is also extremely tired and confused. I keep asking why the confusion and night-time hallucinations, they tell us it could be the medicine or could be the stage of the cancer. I feel awful leaving her at the hospice but she li...

Re: 2 weeks gone
Louie, you story will help so many people who will sadly visit this site in the future, you have certainly helped me. I just hope when it's my mum's time I can be as strong for my family as you are for yours. I'm just so dreading the next few weeks, I still can't imagine not having my mum around.

I'm so sorry to hear this. My mum was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in october and is under the care of the palliative team at the hospice. My thoughts are with you. You wouldn't wish this on your worst enemy.
