Any recommendations for travel insurance.
I have had the full whipple last year and after 6 months chemo was said to be clear. The quotes I have had for Majorca so far have either been we dont cover or £700+ !

Pet Scan for Type 3C
Big cock up with my PET scan today. When I got the phone call yesterday for a PET scan at 4.00 today I was told not to eat or drink after 12.00 and that my blood sugar had to be below 11.0 So at 11.30 I had a cappuccino and checked my blood sugar which was 11.2 so at 12.30 I had a couple of units wi...

Re: Bloating
Still suffering with incredible bloating, the only thing stopping my stomach getting any larger is that my ribs are in the way, also feet and legs look like they should be on an elephant! it's all bloody painful. So looking for a cause, I have been on daily tinzaparin injections for the last year co...

Re: Bloating
It was discussed, and tapped, without comment.
Now the 40k tablets have gone I typically ally take 7*25 tablets with a meal, it was 6*40k but I think that was a bit excessive.

Bloating
I had the full Whipple last year with everything out (gall bladder/spleen and Pancreas) last year and have just finished a six month course of Folfirinox which wasn't as bad as I was expecting. My scans were Ok last week and go back in 3 months. The problem is that I now have a grossly inflated stom...

Affect of morphine
I just wondered if morphine can affect neutrophil levels.
My last treatment was postponed for a week as my neutrophils were a bit low and I wondered if it could be due to the low dosage of morphine I have been having for back pain.

Re: Creon 40K
With the shortage of 40K Creon my hospital has suggested I move onto Nutrizym, has anyone had any reports on this.
What I am trying to see is the relative strengths of the two tablets.ie is 1*40k Creon equal to 1 or 2 Nutrizym22, if it is the latter I might as well stay with the 25K Creons.

Re: Overnight Hypo
I have had my pancreas (and spleen and gall bladder) removed and hence now have induced diabetes ~ hence the constant blood sugar monitoring.

Overnight Hypo
Last night at 10.00 my blood sugar was 8.4 but I thought to be on the safe side I would have 2 small slices of malt loaf and a small milky coffee, but in the morning at 7.00 my blood sugar was 2.8 ! Recently I have increased my Creon to 6*25000 for my evening meal due to experiencing diarrhea and ex...

Conflicting advice/medicine
Like most here I have a well stocked medicine cupboard and am taking a large number of different medicines and I am not always sure that they are compatable! I am on Folfirinox ( 3 infusions so far, every 2 weeks) and in addition to the usual meds I am having daily blood thinning injections of Tinza...

Re: Just started Folfirinox
Well my count was 2.89 on Tuesday so had my 2 course on Wednesday, went reasonably well although I did feel a bit nauseous afterwards ~ and my sugar levels are well up. Because of my concerns with my hair loss I had a cool cap on whilst I was being infused ~ judging by all the faffing around I got t...

Re: Just started Folfirinox
More bad news as my treatment has been delayed again due to a low neutrophil count of 1.1 rather than the 1.5 they want!
The only 'good' point was that I discovered that when it was delayed before my count was 0.35 so at least they have increased over the last week.
