Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
Hi Dee, not sure if you remember me but I lost my amazing Mum back in July. I keep logging on to see how your Mum is and I am so sorry to hear you have lost her too. It is tough without them but know and take comfort from the fact they are no longer suffering from this horrible disease. You may not ...

Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
Thanks Dee, I am weirdly at peace at the moment. Maybe the relief that she is no longer nauseous or in pain. Please keep me posted posted on your lovely Mum too as I do think about you both.

Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
My darling, wonderful and amazingly brave Mum has died she never woke up from the stroke. I am devastated. She was doing so well and the chemo had great results but she was feeling more nauseous and more unwell. It is kinder this way as the stroke was so severe she would not have known much about it...

Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
Sadly my poor Mum has suffered a Stroke on top of everything else. She was getting more and more confused over the last week and the hospice put this down to fecal impaction which she was treated for in hospital on Wednesday. However we think she suffered a stroke on Friday and of course is now very...

Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
Hi Dee,
I was so sad to hear that your Mum has developed these complications as if our poor Mum’s don’t have enough going on. I hope that she recovers her strength and will be well enough to start treatment again soon.

Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
Hi Dee, We have had amazing news. The tumour on the Pancreas has shrunk so it is barely visible on the scan and the tumours in her liver have halved in size and some have even shrunk completely. We were given the option of coming off the Abraxane but Mum decided to continue with the dual Gemcitabine...

Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
Hi Dee, We get Mum’s first scan results tomorrow so we are all anxious tonight. Your post was the first I read after Mum was diagnosed and I remember it giving me some hope as your Mum has just got her first scan results and they were so positive. So pleased she seems to still be doing well. Hope th...

Re: loosing hope
Hi Charlotte, My Mum (72) was diagnosed with inoperable PC which has spread to her liver in September. It was the most horrific day of my life so far. It was a complete shock, Mum has never smoked always been very fit and healthy and it came out of the blue. I asked her to go to the docs as she said...

Hi All, It has been a while since I have written anything here but have been reading your blogs with interest and hope everyone is doing well. My Mum is not doing too badly we are on the last dose of chemo on the first cycle and will have a CT next Tuesday which will no doubt bring anxiety until we ...

Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
Mum is finally over the virus after a brief stay in hospital. We are back on the chemo, dose 2 last week and dose 3 booked for Thursday. She is still battling the nausea which is making her feel weak. She is still eating every meal which is a struggle when she feels so sick. Just hoping for the naus...

Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
Hi Erika, Thanks for your kind words. I hope it gets better, she is still so poorly with the virus. I hope that like you she finds some food that she fancies as she is really struggling at the moment. Just hoping she will be well enough to continue with her chemo. Best of luck with your treatment. Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
Thank you for your ideas, it is greatly appreciated. I will certainly try the Milk Thistle. Just hoping that she can get over the virus so we know what is side effects of the chemo and try and deal with those.

Re: My mum - Stage 4 PC with liver mets
Does anyone have any experience of an increased sense of smell? Mum is becoming increasingly nauseous but has a heightened sense of smell which is making the sickness worse. She had the first chemo on Thursday but has picked up a virus (we believe on Wednesday) which is making her feel worse. If we ...
