Re: Message for Vicky

Hi Vicky, I haven't been on here for a while but thought I would pop back on to catch up with whats going on with PCUK. I read your post about all the things you are planning to raise funds for PCUK and to raise awareness. As well as your own personal achievements, learning to drive etc..... I think...

Re: Message for Vicky

Hi Vicky, I hope that the service went well on the 18th and that although it must have been an extremely difficult day, I hope that you feel a little more able to tackle the next stage of this extremely tough challenge. It is a very slow process and all the emotions will take time to process and wor...

Re: Message for Vicky

Hi Vicky, Sorry to read that you are really struggling at the moment. I went through similar feelings when my mum died and it is completely natural to feel the things you do. I also felt angry about my mum leaving me behind to deal with everything, followed by sadness and guilt for being angry with ...

Re: Message for Vicky

Hi Vicky, I replied on another thread so thought I would send message again. I was so sorry to read about the loss of your partner at such a young age. The effects of this cancer are devastating and the pace and aggression of it means you hardly have time to get your head around it. I am 29 and lost...

Hi Vicky, I was so sorry to read about the loss of your partner at such a young age. The effects of this cancer are devastating and the pace and aggression of it means you hardly have time to get your head around it. I am 29 and lost my mum last year, on 18th june. 4 days after my birthday. She was ...

Volunteers required.....

Hi all! I'm organising a concert called music4life, to be held on Saturday 19th June 2010, in Margate in sunny (hopefully!) Kent. It is to raise awareness and money for both Pancreatic Cancer UK and The Pilgrims Hospices in Kent. I'm organising it in memory of my amazing mum who sadly passed away on...

Re: A wonderful woman my mother has died.

Hi Millyjo, Reading your message made me cry.... I lost my mum on 18 June, approx 6 weeks after her diagnosis. She went in for a biopsy and suffered complications and never came home. She died 4 days after my 29th birthday. My partner has been brilliant, dropping everything to be with me at my mums ...

Re: Mom's gone - so suddenly

Hi Lisa, I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your mum. I lost my mum almost 2 months ago, 4 days after my 29th birthday. It is so awful that this cancer is so cruel and causes so much suffering. My mum had only been diagnosed approximately 6 weeks before she died, having suffered complications ...

Re: Message for Rach/ My beautiful mum is now at peace

Dear Nicki, Thanks for your message. It has been a very strange time to say the least. The funeral service was beautiful. Load of people wore bright colours as this was how they remembered my mum, and her closest friends and family read tributes out. The choir with whom she loved to sing also sang a...

Re: tell us your experiences of diagnsis of pancreatic cancer

My mum was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the end of may/june 2009. She had been feeling unwell since approximately xmas 2008 and had been to the doctors on various occasions during early 2009 with stomach complaints including acid reflux, alternating bowel habits etc. She had also lost approx ...

Re: Constipation advice for Mum with inoperable cancer..?

Hello, My mum was in hospital back in may with obstructive jaundice, during which time they found a mass on the pancreas in addition to the gall stones she had been suffering with. She was given the laxative Movicol while in hospital and got it prescribed from her GP when she returned home. She said...

Re: Husband recently diagnosed

Hi Heather, Sorry to hear about your husband. My mum has just been diagnosed and we are still going through the surreality of it all. My mum has been told that the tumour is inoperable as blood vessels are involved and is waiting to go in to hospital for biopsy next week to confirm then we're off to...
