Re: Do cancer cells spread faster after an abdominal opening

Thanks all! I try to accept it, but it's not easy. I also find it strange that we didn't get a proper diagnosis until late. I know chemothrapy weakens the body, and of course I wouldn't have wanted her to lose the quality of life. But on the other hand, I read stories about patients whose tumor was ...

Re: Do cancer cells spread faster after an abdominal opening

Thanks for the answer! The reason I feel very bad is that she wasn't even given a chance to prolonge her life. She was so well for so long, that if she had gotten treatment, her positive period could have lasted some longer. But even if not, at least I'd know now that we tried. It would be easier fo...

Re: Do cancer cells spread faster after an abdominal opening

You're right, and I wouldn't even feel that bad if she had gotten some treatment from the beginning. Losing her would still hurt, but I'd accept it more easily. Now it feels like not everything was done to her what could have been. If she had just lived some months more, it would be wonderful. Chemo...

Re: Do cancer cells spread faster after an abdominal opening

Dear Wife@Mum, Thank you for the answer! i'm not sure about the limits, but I guess that in this case they should have told us to go elsewhere, but they acted like everything was ok. I don't want to blame our oncologist centre though, because of course they didn't mean bad, and also my mom's blood t...

Do cancer cells spread faster after an abdominal opening?

Hello, I've already wrote twice here. I'm very sad to write that my beloved mother has passed away in early January, 14 months after initial diagnosis. Our story is that malignancy wasn't proven until she was too weak for chemotherapy. Moreover, after three needle biopsies and after an EUS biopsy in...

Re: Extreme weakness, what do to?

Thanks for the answers! I read again my post, and maybe I wasn't clear enough: when I mentioned "surgery", I meant the biliary bypass surgery. My mother didn't have the Whipple procedure (the tumor is inoperable). She said she would be happy if she could live one more year at least, but of course if...

Extreme weakness, what do to?

Hi, I wrote a post in June: http://forum.pancreaticcancer.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1784 and sorry I didn't write more then, but things hasn't changed much until last month. My mom had a huge pain around her liver, and her stool became white-ish. There was a biliary blockage which caused these, and...

Benign or malignant tumor?

Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I read some posts, and now decided to write one. I'm confused about my mom diagnosis, so I'd like to ask for some help. Last autumn my mom had severe stomach pain, vomiting, and soon after that jaundice, so she was admitted to hospital where they put a stent into her b...
