Thank you all. I had a good talk with my little girl and she understands that grampa wont be here much longer. It was heartbreaking. I have made her a special photo album with pictures of her and grampa.

hi, I can't believe it's been nearly a year since I posted here. I don't post often but I follow everyone's stories and share your heartache. My brave dad has fought for almost a year now but we're near the end and the emotions I'm going through are crazy. I don't want him to suffer but I don't want...

Re: Thank you and our story... but we are not that far yet!

Hi L, I've not posted before on your thread but just want to say I totally understand your frustration with the docs. All treatment for my dad stopped just after Christmas, he had had folfirinox and gem/abraxane but neither worked. We were also given different opinions from everyone and now we are g...

Re: New Member......so glad I found this forum

Hi Shelda, yes it is awful, I lost my mum 6 years ago and that was heartbreaking but it was quick, this is totally different, watching your parent get weaker and weaker. I have my partner to support me and my dad has a partner, she doesn't live with him but sees him most days and has been great thro...

Re: New Member......so glad I found this forum

hi, thanks Sandra. At the moment he isn't too bad, in quite a bit of pain, back, stomach and bowels and very tired but he's still getting out and about when he can. He has accepted there is nothing more that can be done and always has a positive attitude! i'm a bit of an emotional wreck but holding ...

Re: Mum diagnosed with stage 4 recently

Hi coxylewis, welcome to the forum. I rarely post but reading everyone's stories has really helped me, and the advice you get on here is great. My dad also has stage 4 inoperable PC, diagnosed last summer. He had 12 folfirinox sessions then switched to gem/abraxane but neither of them worked so all ...

Re: frustrated

Hi Sheena, I don't usually post on here but I follow everyone's stories. You struck a chord with me about the people moaning about trivial things. My dad has advanced pancreatic cancer, has had chemo but there's nothing more they can do for him now. it's all i think about, 24/7 and i've snapped at a...

Re: Unable to cope

Hi Leila, I don't often post on here but I do read other's stories and find great comfort that I'm not alone. My dad has PC and there is nothing more they can do for him. Although he is well enough just now I am dreading having to watch him in pain and then eventually die. I don't know how I'll cope...

Re: Folfirinox and fatigue

Hi sue, I'm new to the forums. Glad I saw your post. My dad is really struggling with fatigue. He's on his 4th cycle and it has got worse every time. He's had h's dose reduced twice now and it's made no difference. Has oncologist app this week so will see what he says. My dad's a strong man and has ...
