Re: Confused and worried
I very rarely post her nowadays but I see you haven't had a response from anyone. I think what you are experiencing is pretty normal discharge and often people are not sure what to do. I suggest you contact his GP today and I am sure they will be helpful. The main thing is to get Creon which will he...

Re: Successful Surgery in Heidelberg Germany - Inoperable in UK
It's a long time since I posted here but as an 'old stager' I can maybe help. I don't have a view or experience on Heidelberg. However, it is worth reading a thread here entitled 'Mum of 42 recently diagnosed with inoperable PC' by Ruthus. It commences on 28 November 2015. It is in Patient Experienc...

Re: Our Journey without chemo
Marmalade I don't post now but I have been keeping up to date with what has been happening. I was sorry to read that Louis died this morning but I'm so pleased it was peaceful. No matter how prepared any of us are for a loved one's death it is, nevertheless, agonisingly sad and I am thinking of you ...

Re: Our Story
Today it is six months since Stephen died. Sometimes it has been difficult but there have been good times too. At the end of May on the day after what was the 68th anniversary of his birth his boating pals took the boat out on to the Firth of Forth and scattered his ashes. His brother in law (who si...

Re: New Treatments
HI DG There is one comment above that I am concerned about. You say that PCUK have said on a thread that 'people seem to do better when they take control and do extra'. I don't think anyone ever said that because on what basis would they make that judgement. My husband was diagnosed early and was ab...

Hi Dandygirl I wasn't in any way offended by your post. You mention funding for Abraxane in Scotland and ?Wales. I'm not an expert on this but my understanding is that NICE did not approve funding for Abraxane for PC patients in England. However, for some time it was funded by the Cancer Drugs Fund ...

Sorry to hear about this. I hope that the community team call soon and give some pain relief. You are both in my thoughts.

Re: Totally in awe of my wonderful Husband!
PW It is almost six months since my husband died. I can tell you that your feelings are the same as most of us in your situation and many of us wonder why we are allowed to carry on when a loved one couldn't. But the other thing I can tell you is that in time the feelings get better and you adjust t...

Good morning Marmalade
It's so good to read your post. PC is so unpredictable that a quality of life story such as yours is good to read and to hear Louis is eating well and pottering happily. I hope you get to the street fair and it's not bucketing rain as it is here in Fife.

Hi Dandygal I'd just like to pick up on something you mentioned on Ruth's thread about under funding of PC research and drugs. Just over two years ago I had little knowledge of cancer at all despite the fact that my father and uncle had died of cancer but that was over fifteen years ago and things w...

Re: My Lovely Father in Law
Hello Karen I'm sorry to hear your news about your father in law. I think you will find that the Hospice will be very good at managing pain and that he will be made very comfortable. Please don't feel helpless or useless as just writing here shows the support you are giving and it's clear from what ...

Re: New Treatments
This is an interesting debate and I certainly don't have any expertise on the subject. However, I think that the link W&M posted yesterday about the way new compounds are tested is very interesting. It is amazing how many compounds need to be tested before useful ones are identified.
