Re: mother in law
Oh Cheryl, so sorry to hear that your mother in law isn't improving as we all hoped she would. Breathlessness and low oxygen levels are symptoms of many different things and some are less serious than others, so try not to worry too much (easy to say, I know). Keep us up to date with the news Cheryl...

Re: Really confused
Hi Barbara It's really not surprising you are struggling: the shock, the worry and the understandable tiredness all play a part. Ted was like your hubby...never wanted to be in hospital, but it's the right place for your husband right now. Hopefully, he will be fit enough to come home soon. Thinking...

Re: Reluctance
Hi, depending on the age of the doctor I would pick a suitable family relative and ask them "If I were your [mother/wife/daughter/sister], would you still say that?". Invariably the doctor will outwardly say that they would still say the same thing but it might just make them think a little more abo...

Re: mother in law
So sorry to hear the latest news Cheryl...however, that could explain why the blood transfusion didn't have the beneficial effect it should have done. Let us know how your Mum in Law gets on when you have more news.

Oh Barbara
Sending you thoughts of strength and comfort lovely. There's nothing anyone can say to make it better but you know that we're all with you in spirit.
Keep posting when you are able...even if it's just to vent - we're all here for you

Re: GARY
Oh Deb my thoughts are with you at this terrible time. I'm sure Gary knows you are there. I know that on his last day Ted knew when I wasn't in the room - even if I didn't say anything about leaving he got agitated if I wasn't beside him.
My love to you and your daughter.

Re: My husbands pancreatic cancer situation
Oh Sooty, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I had a really tough time writing Ted's Eulogy too - a lot of tears. I think you just have to go with your heart and try to sum up your husband and what he was really about. I am determined that Ted's service is not to mourn his death but to celebrate his li...

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers. It does help.
Trevor, Ted was diagnosed in February 2009, so for an inoperable patient he has done remarkably well.

Re: My world just fell apart
Hi Francis I'm so sorry to hear your news. The answer to your question is "Don't wait at all". My cynical view is that those who shout get seen first. Like Helen said, it's no good being stroppy or abusive but you do need to be firm and assertive. Basically, the MDT is the meeting where your Mum's c...

Re: Mum just diagnosed
Hi Fiona and welcome Three years ago my beloved husband, Ted, was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer. He was told probably 9-12 months but he fought so hard that I lost him only this week. Throughout most of that time he had a good quality of life - it's only been since Christmas that he had ...
