Hi

Recently I have seen a few new people join, and not post. That's fine. Sometimes I think it could seem more real if we post? I know we don't want reality. I also know, we need to feel we are not alone.

When I joined, it took me a while to post.

I just want to say, please don't be scared to. You are scared enough already. We are all going through, or have been through something similiar, if not the same. There will be someone here to offer some advice. I promise.

I know this sounds about weird, but we are all so close here. I believe so anyway.

Here, is the only place I have. If I didn't have here, I don't know where I would be. Sometimes, just fir someone to say they care, is enough to get mt to tomorrow.

We all care. Don't be alone.

xx

So true ...

It took me months to post but I'm glad I did. I passed on information to my dad too so although (as far as I know) he didn't visit the forum himself, it may have helped him to feel less 'alone' too?

If anyone is thinking of posting on here then please do x

Leila,

What a great post, you are so thoughtful and so right. I would never have imagined I would find a forum useful, but a virtual hug is an amazing thing!

Well done for posting this. The world of Pancreatic Cancer is a scary one! I had never even heard of it before my mum was diagnosed and this is where this forum has helped me so much. I would say that I don't feel so lost now and the people on here are amazing. We all understand each other and the battles we are facing even if we don't have the answers we can support each other. How very true Fifi. I recall plucking up the courage to put my first post on this site some months ago, and I'm glad that I did. I was overwhelmed by the kind and caring responses and advice I received, not just by others like me going through this ordeal, but also by the specialist nurses on this site who have on more than one occasion helped me with various issues that I was struggling to get answers to from elsewhere. Even now I find it difficult sometimes to visit the site, as some of the posts are quite upsetting, but that's PC for you. having said that, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending to any new members to "take the plunge" and write your introductory post, I'm sure that you will be pleased that you did.

Hi Didge. Healing process is nearly complete now. Just a small area that is still open and requires dressing twice a week. The practice nurse says about three weeks should see it healed completely. Unfortunately due to the open wound issue I was unable to have post operative chemo, the Oncologist said that there is a twelve week post op window for this treatment. I have a CT scan scheduled for the 25th February. This took some getting, and required me being a right pest phoning the specialist nurse on a daily basis. hoping for a good result as at the moment both my wife and myself feel "in limbo" regarding booking holidays etc. Hope you are feeling well. NEGU.

Regards

Pete

Hi Fifi

Thank you for posting this. It is good to know that I am not the only one who is somewhat afraid to talk about my issues with new people. We will all do better if we could share our problems with each other.
