Local Forum?

Morning All,

I am trying to help my wife through pan can diagnosis, treatment and now the long term after-effects of Whipple and chemo.

One thing that would be useful and I am at a loss to know how to accomplish, is to make contact with people in our area who have undergone the same treatment to share knowledge & ideas.

I thought about setting up a new website/forum but that seems OTT when Pan Can Uk has all the infrastructure already in place and could provide the obvious gateway - the last thing I want to do is create yet another place that people have to find and monitor as a separate entity.

It may well be that Pan Can UK offers such a facility already and I've missed it - if so please let me know how to proceed. If not can you let me know if it would be possible to create a "South West" section for those treated by the excellent team at the xx.

Thanks in advance.

Martin

Thanks for the info.

There is already a Bristol friends group which appears to be focused on fund raising and awareness with the occasional social event, which is all good stuff but not quite what I had in mind.

Any views on creating a local group within the Pan Can UK Forum?

Thanks,

Martin

Dear Martin,

Thank you for posting on the forum and exploring this area with us. Apologies if I haven't understood your needs fully, so I hope you dont mind if I ask a couple of questions?

Are you looking to use the forum or web based medium or are you looking to get people together in person at a local level?

Kindest regards,

Rachel

Hi Martin,

Perhaps you could just start a new thread for people wanting to share their experiences in the 'south west' and see if how this works in the first instance?

We are aware that there are closed Facebook groups out there for people who have undergone Whipples and also nanoknife procedures, but these are not usually location specific.... so not sure if this is also something worth considering?

Apologies if this is not particularly helpful or if I am still missing something,

Kindest regards,

Rachel
