Please read the following before joining the discussion forums:

"Pancreatic Cancer UK" includes its connected companies, trustees, officers, employees and all those employed or otherwise engaged by it and/or them. Unless expressly otherwise stated no trustee, officer, employee or other person connected with Pancreatic Cancer UK is medically trained or qualified.

To post messages on the Pancreatic Cancer UK forums you must be over 18 and registered as a member. By registering you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions and codes of conduct for use on the Pancreatic Cancer UK forums.

To register you will need to choose a unique 'user name' and must provide a unique and valid 'email address'. If you wish to change your user name or email address you must first inform the moderators by emailing discussionboard@pancreaticcancer.org.uk who will close your old account before you can re-register. Users are only allowed one user name, and must, with prior notice, provide a current live email address. Pancreatic Cancer UK will delete all accounts held by individual users found to have more than one user name or an invalid email address.

Pancreatic Cancer UK, at its own discretion, may close an existing forum account from any specific email service or internet service provider.

Any message posted on a Pancreatic Cancer UK forum expresses only the views of the author of the message and does not necessarily reflect the views of Pancreatic Cancer UK or any other person or entity associated with them or the forums. These forums use moderators and hosts to monitor the content and appearance of messages posted in them. However, considering the real-time nature of the message board, it is impossible to review or monitor every message. Therefore, you agree that neither these forums, nor any person or entity associated with them, will be held responsible for the contents, accuracy, completeness or validity of any information posted in them.

Pancreatic Cancer UK reserves the right to immediately edit or remove any post for any reason at our own discretion without prior contact with the author. Reasons for this may include concerns that a user is not paying due attention to the aims of the board. If this happens, we will try to contact the original poster to let them know our reasons. We also reserve the right to suspend or ban any user as above.

Where any message contains links to other websites or information, you agree that Pancreatic Cancer UK will not be responsible for the consequences of following links.

You agree that you will not use the forums to post any material, or links to any material, which is knowingly false, defamatory, libellous, inaccurate, abusive, extremist, hateful, harassing, pornographic, obscene, profane, sexually orientated, offensive, racist, homophobic, ageist, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law.

You agree that you will not knowingly post on the forums information or material which is incorrect or untrue.

You agree that you will be polite to other forum members, you will not swear and you will be respectful of other members' opinions.

You agree that you will not use forums to post any copyright material or other intellectual property with out the express permission of the copyright or intellectual property holder, and agree to indemnify Pancreatic Cancer UK for any loss it may suffer in respect thereof.

You agree that you will not post on the forums any specific health or medical information other than that of which you have personal experience unless you provide authorities for that information in the same post.

Users may edit their posts at any time subject to these terms and conditions.

Pancreatic Cancer UK does not generally link to any third party site other than recognised registered charities or relevant partners, and will not endorse any other site.

Any person using the Pancreatic Cancer UK forums does so at their own risk. The information in these forums is not intended to constitute medical advice and should not be used to replace advice given by health professionals. You are strongly advised to consult a doctor or other health professional before taking action on information contained on these forums. You agree that Pancreatic Cancer UK cannot be held responsible for the contents of any material posted on the forums. You accept and understand that you may be exposed to inappropriate and/or inaccurate material and will not seek to hold Pancreatic Cancer UK liable for any consequence or result occurring pursuant to use of the forums, nor will you bring any legal or other claim of whatsoever nature arising out of in relation to your or a third party's use of the forums.

Pancreatic Cancer UK will remove any objectionable material, at its own discretion, and without prior contact with the author. Any users who believe that a posted message is objectionable are encouraged to contact Pancreatic Cancer UK immediately by email. Upon receipt of such notification, we will make every effort to take such action as Pancreatic Cancer UK deem necessary within a reasonable period of time. Since this is a manual process, you are advised that the Pancreatic Cancer UK may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.

Pancreatic Cancer UK reserves the right to suspend a user's account following any formal complaint or threatened legal action until resolution is achieved, and to edit or delete any messages for any reason, at Pancreatic Cancer UK's sole discretion. You agree that you are solely responsible for the content of your messages and that you will indemnify and hold harmless Pancreatic Cancer UK with respect to any claim based upon the appearance and/or transmissions of your messages.

In the event of any complaint about inappropriate use or posts or in case of actual or threatened legal action rising from any message posted by you, Pancreatic Cancer UK reserves the right to reveal your identity to appropriate authorities or bodies (including, but not limited to, the police and other legal authorities, government bodies, ISPs, and the Charity Commission) and any other information we may know about you to comply with due process.
