Re: Roger's Story

Roger's chemo went ahead as planned and the sickness seems to be under control this time and also his blood sugars when he is on steroids - they were through the roof a couple of months ago but with trial and error we've managed to sort things out. The big problem this time is fatigue - since Wednes...

How do I know if creons are doing any good?

My husband has been taking creons for a few months now and I had hoped that his weight would increase but it isn't really. He puts a couple of pounds on then loses them, sometimes because of diarrhoea, and although his appetite is good and I am fortifying his food there is little change. He is havin...

Hi didge, hope you are okay and that Rob has rallied enough to come home. Thinking of you.

Re: Steve's story

Hi sheena, I know exactly how you feel. I'm strong at home when I'm with Roger but when he's having a nap or I'm in the car alone the tears just flow and I also find it difficult listening to music because the words just bring back memories. There are good days and bad days and everyone says to stay...

Hi Lisa, so glad your dad is home and out of pain - he's in the best best place with all of his loved ones around him. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Re: Trevor's Story

Hi Sandra, I can understand what you say about you would rather he died than linger on and I think that's the best we can all hope for - isn't it a dreadful thought. I know it's early days but you are such a support to the rest of us who are trying to deal with this awful disease and I do think of w...

Re: Roger's Story

Thank you for all your words of support at this dreadful time. Roger hasn't had too bad a week once he re started the anti sickness meds but then he had dreadful diarrhoea! It seems like it's one thing after another! The oncologist was quite pleased with him and although he has lost a couple of poun...

Re: Trevor's Story

Hi Sandra, just wondered how you were coping at the moment after losing your Trevor. I can't imagine what it must be like and fear that I too will be in your position at some stage. You offer such support to others who are going through this terrible ordeal and I just wanted to let you know that my ...

Re: My Dads diagnosis

Hi Ally, hope the oncologist appointment went well. My husband was diagnosed with the same as your dad and he lost weight last year but the doctors just ignored it and said it was less to carry around. He was only 8St 11lbs to start with and is now about 7st but he has good days and bad and we just ...

Re: ITS BEEN A WHILE--THE LOVE OF MY LIFE HAS CANCER

That's good news and he is definitely thinking positively, especially with a possible cruise, so that's a step in right direction and the creons should help his appetite too. My husband takes them and his appetite is good and although he doesn't put much weight on, at least he's stable. Good luck

What good news. Hopefully she will be back home with you soon, it must be so worrying with her so far away and there have been some good results with folfirinox. Good luck.

Re: Steve's story

Hi sheena, I know what you mean about being a good actress. Roger asked me if I knew how long the doctors had given him and when I said that I did he said he didn't know how I could live with knowing! Well, I can't and it breaks my heart every day, like you said, not knowing when it would be and see...
