Re: Can not believe I’m here again

So sorry you’re back here for a second time. It’s a worry that plagues me all the time that I’ll be back here about another loved one, so I’m gutted for you that it’s your reality. Don’t know what to say, but know that people out there are thinking of you and try to carry on as best you can. You’ve ...

Re: Moving on . . . .

Hi Mo x Sorry to hear of your struggles, I guess we all can relate to it though we are all different so I won’t say “I know how you feel” cos I don’t, but I empathise totally with everything you say. I’ve been having counselling at the hospice for about 8/9 months now. I can honestly say it’s been a...

Re: Carls story

I'm sorry to say Carl slipped off into his final sleep Sunday at 12.15pm. I was holding his hand and his mum his other and he was surrounded by love and family. He didn't seem in any pain or distress and the hospice staff were just as devastated as we were. He touched so many lives, and made so many...

Re: Carls story

Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I've posted and the rollercoaster journey has been very real. In the last few months we've had highs when Drs telling us Carl just had a little disease on the liver, to lows of it had spread to his heart, to it had spread to his skin... and probably 100 other...

Re: 36 yo adv pancr cancer patient treated in France

Have a great holiday! And yes from what you wrote Carl has had 6-7months cancer free after each ablation he's had, and that has kept him going for the last 3.5years, we were told that it isnt usually done for pancreatic cancer too, but when you are young and fit and healthy why wouldnt you push for ...

Re: Carls story

Thank you all for dropping by and sending us well wishes. I have been on but not really felt up to posting, as bit by bit we seemed to get worse and worse news. After the bad experience with the NHS hospital and Carl being told he has lung mets now by a oncologist we don't normally see, he rang to t...

Re: Carls story

Well we saw a oncologist (not our normal one) today and he told Carl that he now has nodules in his lungs. I had to leave as they were running 3 hours late and I was working, plus I didn't know they would have the results so quickly from the scan which was done in a private hospital yesterday. So I ...

Nights and mornings are worst, I can't sleep properly and then wake up and maybe for 10mins totally forget about the situation just to get it hit me again. Im in work today and finding it hard to not be at home. Carl is doing...

Re: Carls story

Thanks so much for your input, as always its very appreciated! @stepuha - Thanks for the link and info. Shame it's only at one hospital but will see what they say. Didge has recommended the same Dr so I will see if I can get a referral privately to see him. @PW - yes it was one of our oncology team,...

Re: Carls story

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. Yes he looks very well and still does for the most part, bit of breathlessness and his chest pains are still there but a little better. It's hard to write out all the things I'm feeling at the moment but panic is probably the best word for now. The dr came...

I hope Pete can manage the abraxane/gem well and feels better. even though chemo is so tough it's something we definitely rely on and it's definitely scary when you think about it being withdrawn. Got everything crossed for you both too x

Re: Carls story

Hi Sandra, Yes Thursday will be interesting watching! We're both looking forward to it. At the hospital now for Carl's chemo. Had some bad news the ca19 has jumped to 3800 when it was down to 2050. It's bee 5 weeks since the last chemo and due to Carl's pain levels I knew something was wrong so expe...

Re: Carls story

Hi Sandra, thanks for checking in on us, I do appreciate it. Carl is on BBC one Thursday morning at 9.15 (I think). It's called food truth or scare ( again I think lol) and is running Monday- Friday at the same time. He is thinking he might have been edited out a bit as he asked when he was on and t...
