Re: Concerned husband

Saxon, sorry you find yourself here, but hopefully we can all help with the roller coaster ride you find yourselves on. My husband, Trevor had 12 rounds of chemo in his first session, 6 x 5FU then 6 Folfirinox, his bloods were fine. After a 6 month break he started treatment again and on the second ...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .

Mo, as stupid as it seems that feeling of control is so good, I was much the same but didn't do the 22 second thing I must admit. As you say its the last thing you can do for your beloved Peter and you want to send him off in great style. Its so lovely that you have had lots of support, it is needed...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .

They are all exactly right Mo, and that's were the hospice is so great they let you do it your way. I wanted to be with Trevor 24/7 and hold his hand, they were there in the background, and I knew when I needed them they would be there, peace of mind for me. I didn't want the boys to see him die, I ...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .

Mo, that's wonderful, I hope you get a good nights rest, if you do things will look better in the morning. Hospices are truly wonderful places and I am sure the hug you got from the doctor was sorely needed, our doctor was just the same, they understand just what you are going through. Sending you l...

Re: Trevor's Story

I just had to use my 1000 post to post on my beloved Trevor's thread who I still miss dreadfully, especially at this time of year. I also want to wish all forum members past and present, and the others who although they don't post, read the forum and hopefully get help from it, the best Christmas th...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .

My sentiments too Sandie, Mo is a brick, still keeping us smiling, whilst coping admirably with all the things this shitty disease throws at her. Mo, Trevor loved the Fortisip too but at least he would have Banana, and Coffee flavour along with the Vanilla, made me shudder too. Glad to hear you got ...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .

Oh Mo, what a horrible experience for you both. I just wish I was near enough for a coffee and a chat, and to take a turn with the pacing. You should really have rung for help, but I understand exactly that you didn't want to upset Peter again, its all so hard and so bloody scary. I have no suggesti...

Re: Thoughts from the PC frontline

Hi W&M glad to hear that treatment has finally started, and good to hear the side effects are manageable. Why oh why don't these consultants understand its all about quality of life, it is beyond me it really is, but perhaps their hand are tied tighter than we think!! Hope things continue on an even...
