Re: She's gone - Near as makes no difference 4 years on

As is the nature of this brutal monster there probably aren't many people still here who were around when I first started posting about my Mum's journey. The four year anniversary of losing her is in not many days and just so happened a random browser search brought up a link to the forum. I knew I ...

Re: Time is ticking!

Hi there, I'm not often back on the forum these days, but wanted to jump in and add my voice to those urging you to make a fuss. Steve and Julia will tell you I was far from a wallflower when dealing with delays round my Mum's MDTs and docs. I made a rip roaring nuisance of myself with consultant's ...

Re: Abraxane -our experiences so far

Nikki hon, what fab news to pop in and hear. Tumbling CA19-9, a holiday and your usual tenacity getting to the bottom of that clot - warrior women ride on! :-)

So, so, so glad to hear he's mostly coping fine with the chemo.

Lots of love

Re: So far so good!

Steve, just popping back and had to check in with one of my fave PC fighting fellas. Good to hear you're coping with the Folfirinox & fantastic news ref the markers. Understood the reaction to the "no fixed end" discussion about chemo too. Wishing you all the best and keeping up my end mainly on Twi...

Re: She's gone

Ah honey, I was really touched by all the posts, but yours especially. It's what I'm waiting to have happen. The woman so ill to fade and the far reaching loss of all she was to land. Hope the bright spots are coming more often now.

Re: She's gone

So glad it resonated with you Emma and didn't upset either of you and blown away by the compliments. I'm always hesitant about sharing poetry as it's such a personal thing. It's my last line of head-defugging defence as I'm forced to be so disciplined about words and rhymes, it's necessary to really...

Re: So far so good!

Extra late addition to the birthday wishes. Hope some good laughs had with or without a drink or three.

Been thinking of you on your furry fox journey and hoping the little livery buggers get blasted.

Thank you for taking time out to post such lovely words on my thread.

Love & hugs

Sarah

Re: She's gone

Thank you everyone for being so kind and thoughtful. I'm back a little more often now and it's helping. The numbness has started to wear off a bit, which is making me notice stuff more, but making it harder to sort the stuff I notice out...if that makes sense. Untangled some of my messy head into a ...

Re: Wish someone would help him

Hi Fifi, I don't know if you still need an answer about the flushing PICC line question, but Macmillan will never do it as they support/co-ordinate care, but don't practically nurse (this was the definitive line in our area and assumed it was the national one) and district nursing co-ordinators in d...

Re: Carls story

Ditto what Jane said.

Love, hugs and best for the future to both of you and if you fancy staying in touch offline the moderators have my email. Suspect a right laff could be had although I would understand if you prefer to stay away from all things and people PC related.

Re: Wish someone would help him

Hi Fifi, what a dramatic rollercoaster. My stomach churns remembering times like this with Mum. It is brutally hard to step back from the fight and just support your dad and nigh on impossible without someone like a specialist nurse to talk you through current thoughts and investigations and next st...

Re: She's gone

Thank you so much for all the kind words folk. It really does help. Rob, I'm sorry I made you emotionally messy at work, it touched me how much you care for us, a bunch of strangers, but I shouldn't be surprised, because I feel so invested in your story and many others. At some point it would be goo...

Re: She's Gone

Hi all,

The subject doesn't quite say it all, so I've broken a habit and posted Mum's final story in the right forum.

She's gone

Hello lovely folk, In true style I'm probably not going to be brief here and I'm unlikely to pull punches about what happened, so if feeling fragile, perhaps leave for another day. This is the very last chapter of our story. The story I've written with no respect for brevity elsewhere here. You can ...

Re: So far so good!

Hi Mr, Been away for a bit, but wanted to see how you all are. New googlies i note (careful not to typo that one)! On-going determination to kick the wee (insert preferred expletive)'s ass still in place - good stuff. Emend - totally the ticket and hope it does the job. Usually given as a loading do...
