Re: Help.

I rang the doctors this morning as Keith's headaches getting worse and throwing up. A lovely doctor came out and did a good check up. Keith's blood pressure was 220 / 120 which he said was dangerously high. He rang the hospital and I took Keith straight down there. After a few hours the pain had les...

Re: Help.

I am going to ring the doctors surgery in the morning to see if I can see our doctor. I also have an appointment with a nurse at the local hospice to have a chat. Keith has had a scan recently but just of the abdomen. Good news was that the cancer had not increased. That is why he is having a break ...

Help.

My husband has inoperable pancreatic cancer. Chemotherapy has been suspended. He recently also had a heart attack. This was treated successfully. He has to take blood thinning tablets every day as well as injection to stop blood clots in his lungs (been on that for 4 months). He has been told to tak...

Re: One hell of a day.

A nurse from the hospital has just phoned to say that they are so pleased with Keiths progress that they may take him off the medication by tomorrow. She was so lovely and says that she will help in any way she can. She says that Keith's biggest worry is me. I will have to try and control myself a b...

Re: One hell of a day.

Thank you so much folks, for all the replies. It is nice to know that people take the time to read and answer. Went to see Keith and the difference is amazing. He seems to be pain free and has eaten. He is on a drip of Herapin? among other things and this is going through him all the time, they say ...

Re: One hell of a day.

I will come back to everyone later. Just heard that it was a heart attack. 3 months ago the pain started, though not with as much severity. He saw a heart specialist 2 months ago and he wanted a scan. 2 months we have waited for the scan and Keith was due to have it on Wednesday. Just seeting off to...

One hell of a day.

Well it's 2am. One hell of a day. Had to send for an ambulance for Keith as he was in so much pain. Paramedic arrived first and gave him all sorts of things including morphine. Ambulance arrived and took in to hospital where they are keeping him to monitor him. Heard from the hospital that does Nano...

Re: I am furious.

Thank you for all the advise. I feel I am not the one to cpmplain as I tend to "lose it" when I get emotional or upset. I will write everything down and ask my sister to come with me when the time is right. She is calm and can put things in a way that I cannot. This is why I have said nothing up to ...

Re: Swollen legs and abdomen advice

Follow up to my husbands treatment. Keith had a partial blood transfusion on Friday evening and the rest on Saturday. He has also been given water tablets. He has lost 4 pounds in 24 hours but his legs are still swollen though not as badly. The blood transfusion seems to have helped his breathing an...

Re: I am furious.

Well Keith eventually got half the blood transfusion that evening at 9pm. They continued it the next day (Saturday). Following this his red cell count dropped and they said they may do another transfusion on Sunday. Sunday morning 05.25am they woke him up to take some blood for testing. 5.25am !!!!!...

Re: I am furious.

Well I calmed down - for a while. Till today. Keith is in hospital again. He has been waiting for a blood transfusion - since lunchtime, it is now 19.45. The blood is apparently coming from another hospital in the same city. Nearly 8 hours !! The nurses have just been to tell him that if it arrives ...

Re: Swollen legs and abdomen advice

Anyway 3 days ago they swelled up agagin - worse than last time. We went to see our GP and he says he thinks it is a circulation pro...

Re: Sunshine is the best medicine

Pleased to hear that you found some sunshine.
An interesting point you mentioned was cancer feeds on glucose.
I had an email recently and the person said in it twice - cancer feeds on sugar.
I dismissed it but could there be any truth in this.
Anyway glad that you are feeling refreshed.
