Re: End stage and Ascites

My heart goes out to you, your story has similarities with my dad, he passed away on Jan 24th 2012 about a month after having his stomach drained of 7.5 litres, he came home on Christmas eve. His funneral was last tuesday, the 7th Feb. Such a sad time for lots of people at the minute. The start of o...

Re: mum's birthday in the hospice

Hi misti, another thought about your mum not wanting to say she is in pain might be that everytime she had pain relief it makes her tired and want to sleep all the time, I know dad wad like that, he would be asleep very shortly after his side of oxynorm, he was taking 20ml at a time. Big hugs to you...

Re: My Amazing Dad

Thank you for your reply, its nice to know I'm not going crazy and what I'm experiencing is 'normal', for want of a better word. When I look around the room I see so many sympathy cards, with hardly any duplicates, that scares me and makes my heartbreak a little more as I realise so many people are/...

Re: psychic reading

I completely think whatever makes you feel like your mum is there and comforts you at this awful time is your decision. I put on one of my other posts that 24hours after dad passed, at the exact time his birdtable was filled with baby blue tits, his favourite, singing away. To me that was him tellin...

Re: my wife

Hi, Dad intially started on morphine based drugs, but changed to methadone based ones as they are synthetic and less side effects. he was wearing patches, having methadone and oxynorm caps for breakthrough pain and pregablin for peripheral nerve pain. I know the meds are a juggling act according to ...

Re: My Amazing Dad

Thank you for your reply, I agree PC is very cruel, and so unknown. It saddens me to read the statistics and that so little is know about detecting it, finding it and treating it. Dad had an ultrasound scan in Nov 2010 on his stomach, nothing was found, then 4 months later he was found to have H. Py...

My Amazing Dad

My father died on the 24th January 2012, also my 31st birthday. He battled for 7months and we; my mother and sister were with him as much as we could be, providing him with 24 hour care. He is my hero, the most amazing father i could ever wish for, his main fault? Protecting us too much. I say this ...
