Re: My Mum

Hi LST,

I’m so sorry to hear your mums pain hasn’t been sorted. Give the nurses on this site a call. They were so helpful when I spoke to them.

Hope you get your mums meds sorted soon. That will make a huge difference once she has the pain under control.

Re: My Mum

Hello LST, I completely understand how you feel overwhelmed as I did too. I had not had a day off work in years but I got to the point where I couldn’t concentrate at work and found it too stressful with everything going on. I got signed off for two weeks and looking back I’m glad I did. My work wer...

Re: My Mum

Hi LST Do you have support from community nurses/doctors? My dad was under the care of our local hospice and they were able to advise dosage of pain relief. They monitored this regularly and increased it when it was needed. If you’ve been told 1ml per hour then it must be ok. My dad was on a much hi...

Re: RIP Erika xxx

I was so sad to hear this terrible news. Erika helped me so much when my dad was ill. I’ve closely followed her posts and have always been struck by her positive attitude and her knowledge about treatment, drugs and diet etc. I hoped so much that she would be that ‘exception to the PC statistics’. H...

Re: loosing hope

Dear Charlie, When I read your post it resonated in so many ways and I really feel for you. My dad meant the world to me and was the most kind thoughtful man I’ve ever met. We never had lots of money when we were kids but I had the best childhood anyone could wish for. I also had no regrets and had ...

Re: This cruel disease

I’ve just watched your video too Erica and have signed the petition. Your positive attitude never ceases to amaze me. You are an inpiritation to so many. I completely agree about how treatment must start earlier and how this offers hope. I will never forget my dad’s reaction when the consultant told...

Re: Dealing With The Loss

Showing your feelings is not being weak. Sometimes it does our kids good to see we are only human too.
Don’t be so hard on yourself. Be honest with your family and you may be surprised at how they react and how supportive they can be.

Re: Dealing With The Loss

I can relate to much of what you say. I lost my dad in August this year to PC and although his death was expected it hit me like a ton of bricks. My dad was diagnosed in the middle of May and I felt as though I started grieving for him before he passed away. When he passed away I felt relieved and I...

Re: Nano knife for Stage IV PC.

Dear Toodotty, Oh my god - I cannot believe this is happening to you! It’s so unfair. I don’t understand how they can stop your treatment when you’re paying for it. Reading your post has made me so angry and I wish there was something I or someone could do to help. Could an online pertition help? Co...

Re: Nano knife for Stage IV PC.

Toodotty I’m so pleased to hear your treatment went well and even more pleased to hear the last CT did not reflect your current condition. You’ve been so supportive in my threads about my dad and I am in awe of how brave and positive you always are. You’re a pioneer in finding the available treatmen...

Re: Sadness - Update on my dad

I wanted to post an update or I suppose a conclusion to the story of my dad’s struggle with PC. I am sorry to say my dad passed away last night (15th August). The hospice has been amazing and have looked after his physical and emotional needs better than anywhere else could have. It’s hard to believ...

Re: Time

Fairy please don’t feel guilty. The pain of seeing a parent going through this is more than enough to bear and from what you’ve said you can’t of done anymore. I’ve said it before but this disease is cruel and wicked. We can only do our best to support our loved ones each step of the way and take ea...

Re: Time

Fairy I’m so sorry to hear how poorly your mum is. I know the burden of having information and knowledge about the condition and not being able to tell her. I’ve had the same situation with my dad. I googled everything and found out as much as I could all the way along and my mum and dad didn’t want...

I’m so sorry to hear you’re having such a horrible time Toodotty. You’ve been such a huge support on this forum and I am always amazed at your bravery and positive attitude.

I’m thinking of you and hoping you improve quickly.
