Re: 11 months since my Whipple!

Great news...it's so nice to hear positive stories.

The discomfort around your abdomen could be an incisional hernia...they are very common.

I hope your scan results continue to show no evidence if disease.

Re: Don’t know where to start

Coping with a sick person is very trying on the patience front...we'd be lying if we said we'd never lost our temper or had a good moan about it so don't beat yourself up about it. There does come a point where we, as carers, just have to let it go...we have to stop trying to make them eat and go wi...

Re: Concerned husband

Folfirinox is a chemo that she'll either tolerate well or not and you wont know that until she gives it a go...my husband tolerated it very well and had a good quality of life. On a practical level, you need a referral to palliative care...they will help with lots of things, pain medication being on...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .

I love Time to Say Goodbye...that would defo make me cry. I had Queen's You're my Best Friend...still makes me cry whenever I hear it now...we only get a 20 minute slot at the crem...and you leave via a back door, so that you don't clash with the next funeral waiting outside the front door! I wanted...

Re: Don’t know where to start

I agree...always ring if you are worried...if it turns out to be nothing, then there's nothing lost...there's no need for her to be in pain, there are many different types of painkillers they can try. The eating thing is something that has frustrated us all...appetite seems to go out of the window w...

Re: Don’t know where to start

Hi Christine...apologies for not replying sooner, but you'll probably have noticed we've all been rallying round Mo...I hope things went well on Friday. Glad to see that the tummy issues have settled...creon should also help keep things normal in that respect. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it befor...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .

There you see the Anglican funeral is all so much less complicated...have a chat to the vicar about the dead person, he comes up with a eulogy, choose a few hymns and a suitable reading, a nice venue and what you want on your butties and Bob's your uncle! Seriously though, I got some pleasure and co...

When I emailed Mo the other day I said it's a strange, anticlimactic sort of feeling...I didn't know what to do with myself after so lon...

Oh Mo...I feel so, so sad for you. Peter was amazing, you've been amazing. You're now amongst many of us who have gone before you...and we will help you through.

Sleep tight Peter.

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .

Much love Mo...the sitting and waiting is a strange time...Nige was surrounded by his family when he died, and my Dad was too (except me) and I think that's what they would have wanted...but you are absolutely right to do what's right for you and Peter. Lots of virtual hugs (I hate being hugged by r...

Re: Thanks for sharing your experiences . . .

Lovely to hear from you and pleased that you're both being looked after. I think you have to be a special sort of person to be in the profession of looking after people and even more special when you are looking after those that are in their final days.

Lots of love and thoughts.
