Hi there

Thought it was useful to share this here as an update;

Pharmaceutical company, Mylan have announced that supplies of pancreatic enzyme supplement, Creon, of 25,000 and 40,000 capsules have been received in the UK. This may take some time to be sent to your local pharmacy . If you have any concerns about your own Creon supply and how to manage this during this time, please feel free to contact us on support line - contact details are in the signature below.

Best wishes
Rachel

I read somewhere the other day that supplies of the higher doseage capsules will be available shortly.

This happened when my husband was taking it and he ended up with 10000s...not ideal when he was already taking between 6 and 8 25000s per meal.

I'm pretty sure there is another brand too...but can't remember what it's called.

Hello Florence,

Thanks for your post concerning the supply of creon.

The manufacturers have a statement on their website, which you can find here:

http://www.creon.co.uk/

It is hoped that this should be resolved as soon as possible.

However, there is a number which you can call for further updates or if you have any questions about this.

We are sorry that this might cause some anxiety to those who use creon regularly, however, as a temporary measure, any dose can be replaced with the equivalent 10,000 international unit capsules. We appreciate that this will mean taking more capsules temporarily, but it is a measure which ensures that you still receive creon.

Kind regards,

Jeni.

Creon Shortage

by Florence » Tue Jun 19, 2018 10:25 pm

Hi I am really concerned that there is a creon shortage. My chemist today said they cant order anymore 25000 and have not been able to order 40000 for nearly 3 years. After reading some of the posts on here I dont even think I am taking enough of a dose currently!! I have managed to find one pharmacy in my city who has 100 25000s but thats it. What can we do? Please help as I am so worried.
